The Journal of Big Bend Studies publishes articles that reach across many disciplines to enhance our understanding of the historical and cultural development of the southwestern United States and Northern Mexico, with emphasis on the Big Bend region of Texas, Chihuahua, and Coahuila.
The Journal of Big Bend Studies is published annually by the Center for Big Bend Studies at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.
The Journal of Big Bend Studies accepts submissions from the public, due this year May 31, 2023 and selected for publication by the CBBS Editorial Board. Papers should be between 10 and 50 pages in length, and follow the submission guidelines outlined in each journal and in the Submission Guidelines.
