Last week Dr. Blair Schneider from Kansas Geological Survey conducted three different types of geophysics at the Canta Recio site. Canta Recio is a Paquimé outlier site north of the known La Junta de Los Rios Villages. It was found in 2020 that we think it might have buried architecture. Dr. Scheider’s work will help us target areas for future test excavations. Her work is the first step in understanding this important site and its relation to the larger Paquimé interaction sphere.
