Free Film Screening – Monday, October 20!

 
Join us at the Museum of the Big Bend for a special screening of The American Southwest, the newest film from Ben Masters and Fin & Fur Films — the team behind Deep in the Heart and The River and the Wall.
 
This stunning documentary takes viewers on a wild journey down the mighty Colorado River, showcasing the region’s incredible wildlife, rich cultural history, and the challenges facing water and habitat conservation. Narrated by Quannah Chasinghorse and created in association with Natives Outdoors, the film highlights both the beauty and urgency of protecting our desert ecosystems.
 
After the screening, enjoy a panel discussion with:
• Dr. Antonio Cantu de Leija – Assistant Professor of Community Ecology
• Dr. Carlos “Lalo” Gonzalez – Associate Professor of Habitat Research and Management
• Dr. Bryon Schroeder – Director of the Center for Big Bend Studies
 
Together, they’ll explore how the film’s themes connect to the history and environment of West Texas’ Chihuahuan Desert.
