Caiti Carvajal serves as Program Coordinator for the Center for Big Bend Studies (CBBS) at Sul Ross State University. Since joining the Center in 2024, she has taken on a wide range of responsibilities, including administrative operations, financial coordination, event and conference planning, publications, communications, and media management. She oversees the Center’s website, social media presence, newsletters, and other outreach initiatives, helping connect CBBS with the university community and the broader public.

Prior to joining CBBS, Caiti gained extensive professional experience in administrative roles and the healthcare industry, including healthcare administration, medical billing and coding, and clinical work. Her diverse background has provided her with a strong foundation in organization, communication, and managing multiple responsibilities.

Caiti is also continuing her education at Sul Ross State University while balancing her academic and professional commitments.

Born and raised in Alpine, Texas, Caiti has a deep appreciation for the history, culture, and natural beauty of the Big Bend region. Her connection to West Texas makes her especially proud to contribute to the Center’s mission of researching, preserving, and sharing the region’s rich cultural heritage.
