Bill was appointed as Interim Director of CBBS in November 2025. He earned a BS degree in Wildlife Ecology from Texas A&M University in 1998 and a MS degree in Range & Wildlife Management from Sul Ross State University in 2003. His thesis work involved modeling mountain lion use of prey and habitats in southern Texas. Adams joined the Borderlands Research Institute in 2023 and currently serves as Associate Director of Operations, where he helps guide the institute’s strategic planning, staff development, and research coordination. Before joining Sul Ross State University, Adams spent more than two decades with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in leadership roles overseeing research programs, budgets, and partnerships statewide.
