Intensive Archaeological Survey Report for the Balmorhea New School Campus, Reeves County, Texas

On March 29–31,2021, Center for Big Bend Studies (CBBS) archaeologists conducted a Phase 1 archaeological assessment consisting of an intensive pedestrian survey and subsurface investigations utilizing 8 backhoe trenches of a 46-hectare (114-acres) parcel of land prior to the planned construction of the Balmorhea Pre-K through 12 New School Campus in Balmorhea, Texas. One Historic site (41RV230) in addition to one historic artifact concentration and three prehistoric artifact concentrations were documented. No historic properties listed in, or recommended eligible for listing in, the National Register of Historic Places will be affected by the proposed construction. No artifacts were collected.
